The Story Is Out: How Love Mobile® Went from a Kitchen Table Conversation to National and International Headlines

The Story Is Out: How Love Mobile® Went from a Kitchen Table Conversation to National and International Headlines

It started with one question.

Wade and Koddi Dunn were sitting at their kitchen table in Georgia when they asked it. Not how to build a phone company. Not how to compete with the major carriers. Something bigger.

How can we make giving back automatic?

That question became Love Mobile®. And in one week in April 2026, the answer went to 484 media outlets, four continents, and the front page of some of the most respected publications in the country.

Here is how it happened. And why it matters.

The Origin: Built From Conviction First

Wade and Koddi Dunn did not need anyone to tell them the idea was worth building. They had already built it.

Love Mobile® was designed, structured, and ready before any outside support entered the picture. The Give Back Model™, the nonprofit giving pillars, the enterprise philanthropy architecture. All of it existed because two people sat at a kitchen table in Georgia and refused to let the question go unanswered.

What they needed was not validation. They needed the practical runway to close the final gaps between a finished model and a live beta.

In early 2025, Love Mobile® received Pebble Fund backing through the Builders + Backers Idea Accelerator program. Builders + Backers is a national idea-stage accelerator built on the belief that more ideas deserve to reach more people in more places. The non-dilutive Pebble Fund support gave the Dunns the runway to resolve the final operational gaps and cross the finish line into launch.

The idea was already there. The conviction was already there. The model was already built. Builders + Backers helped get it live.

What came out the other side was a prepaid wireless company that does not just sell phone plans. It funds nonprofits through the act of staying connected.

From Beta to Full Launch: The Foundation Was Built First

Love Mobile® did not launch overnight. In May 2025, the company quietly launched beta service on a single network. No fanfare. No campaigns. Just building.

During that beta period, Wade and Koddi Dunn presented the Give Back Model™ on three international stages. They were featured panelists at MVNO Nation Live 2025, the MVNO Brazil Summit 2026, and MVNO Nation Americas in Miami. They participated in i2E’s Bridge2 Pre-Accelerator at Gradient, Tulsa’s hub for innovation. They were named a Regional Finalist for the 2026 Gusto Impact Award, a national recognition program honoring small businesses creating meaningful community impact.

But the beta period was not just about industry validation. It was about proving the mission in the community where Love Mobile® was built.

Through the Love Mobile® x Grow with Google Free Certification Program, the company provided 100% free access to industry-recognized certifications in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital productivity to nearly 200 participants. In a single cohort, participants logged 2,307 total learning hours and earned 330 professional certifications at no cost to them. Not as a marketing campaign. As a direct expression of the Education giving pillar built into the Give Back Model™ from the beginning.

Love Mobile® also partnered with BeHeard Movement, Oklahoma’s only mobile drop-in center, to provide wireless service to outreach teams serving individuals experiencing homelessness in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. A phone company serving the people most communities forget. That is not a press release. That is the model in action.

They were not waiting for permission. They were proving the model.

In April 2026, Love Mobile® completed its full expansion to all three major U.S. carrier networks, adding international features including free roaming in Canada and Mexico and unlimited calls to more than 80 countries, available on plans starting as low as $15 per month.

Then they told the world.

What Happened When the Story Was Released

On April 21, 2026, Love Mobile® released one press release. Within 48 hours the story had distributed to 484 media outlets across the United States, Canada, and internationally. What happened next was not part of any PR strategy.

The journalists found Love Mobile® on their own.

AP News published the story the same day. The headline ran alongside breaking national news. The couple portrait of Wade and Koddi Dunn with the Tulsa skyline in the background appeared on one of the most trusted wire services in the world.

AfroTech came next. Journalist Samantha Dorisca independently researched Love Mobile®, pulled the founders’ LinkedIn profiles, discovered the i2E accelerator connection, and wrote an original feature for one of the most influential Black tech and entrepreneurship publications in the country. No pitch. No call. She found the story and told it.

Yahoo Finance picked up the AfroTech story and placed it in their technology sector, putting Love Mobile® in front of one of the largest financial audiences on the planet. Investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders read Yahoo Finance daily. Love Mobile® was now in that conversation.

KOLUMN Magazine produced what can only be described as scholarship. The publication, which has nearly 200,000 engaged followers and covers Black history, Black economics, and Black institution building with depth and precision, wrote an independent feature that placed the Give Back Model™ inside the tradition of cooperative economics and mutual aid. They did not call. They did not ask for a quote. They researched, wrote, and published something that stopped the Love Mobile® team cold when they read it.

The reach extended further. The Oklahoman. The Arizona Republic. The Des Moines Register. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Columbus Dispatch. NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX affiliates across more than 20 states. Canadian publications. The National Law Review. USA Today Network regional papers across the country.

One press release. One week. 484 outlets. Zero journalist pitches.

What the Coverage Said That Love Mobile® Could Not

There is something that happens when a journalist writes about a company without being asked. The story carries a different weight. It is not a press release. It is not sponsored content. It is a reporter sitting down and deciding that something is worth their readers’ attention.

KOLUMN Magazine wrote that a phone bill can carry a little more history, a little more accountability, and a little more love. AfroTech connected Love Mobile® to the i2E accelerator ecosystem and the broader landscape of Black founders building something with national implications. Yahoo Finance placed the story inside a financial framework that speaks directly to investors and market observers.

None of that language came from Love Mobile®. It came from people who looked at what was built and decided it was worth writing about.

The Community Responded

Within one week of the press release, Love Mobile®’s Nonprofit Partners inbox received applications from organizations across all four giving pillars. Education. Environment. Community and Humanitarian. Animal Welfare.

Organizations focused on environmental healing, financial literacy, menstrual equity, foster youth and low income family support, pregnant and parenting teens, mental health advocacy, and animal welfare all reached out independently. From Tulsa. From Atlanta. From across the country. All four giving pillars represented. All of them finding Love Mobile® through social media and press coverage without a single outbound call from the Love Mobile® team.

Every giving pillar represented. Every application unsolicited. Zero outreach from Love Mobile®.

The Give Back Model™ was not just generating press coverage. It was generating a pipeline of mission-aligned organizations ready to build sustained community funding through their subscribers.

What Enterprise Philanthropy Actually Means

Most companies talk about giving back. Love Mobile® was built to give back. That distinction is not semantic. It is structural.

The Give Back Model™ directs a portion of every subscriber’s monthly payment to nonprofits automatically. No opt-in required. No extra cost to the subscriber. No fundraising events. No grant applications. The giving is funded through Love Mobile®’s operating margin and tied directly to subscriber activity.

Through the Nonprofit Partners program, qualifying organizations receive a unique referral link. Every subscriber who activates service through that link directs their entire giving contribution exclusively to that organization. Based on the company’s projections, 500 active subscribers through a single Nonprofit Partner link generates approximately $20,000 annually for that organization. 1,000 subscribers generates up to $120,000 per year.

Here is what that means across each of the four giving pillars.

Education: Up to $120,000 annually can fund up to 24 full scholarships at $5,000 each. Or supply classroom materials and technology for up to 12 schools. Or sponsor after-school programs serving hundreds of students year-round. A phone bill paying for a child’s future. Automatically. Every month.

Environment: The same annual contribution can plant up to 120,000 trees through reforestation organizations, or fund clean water access for up to 16,900 people for a full year. The act of staying connected becomes the act of protecting the planet people live on.

Community and Humanitarian: Up to $120,000 annually funds up to 336,000 meals through regional food banks. It can also cover emergency shelter nights, disaster relief supplies, or job training programs for families who need a hand not a headline.

Animal Welfare: That same contribution can fund up to 600 spay and neuter surgeries, or cover veterinary care, food, and shelter operations for hundreds of rescued animals annually. Animals that had nowhere else to turn get a second chance because someone paid their phone bill.

That is 336,000 meals. 120,000 trees. 600 animals saved. 24 scholarships funded. All from a phone bill. All automatic. All month after month.

This is enterprise philanthropy. Not charity. Not a donation campaign. A business model where community impact is the architecture, not the afterthought.

The Industry Is Paying Attention

Love Mobile® is not just a community story. It is a telecom story. The wireless industry took notice before the press did.

The company’s Give Back Model™ has been presented on three international MVNO stages before its full national launch. That does not happen by accident. Industry leaders invite founders to international panels when they see something worth discussing. Love Mobile® gave them something worth discussing.

“We didn’t start a company and then decide to give back. We decided to give back, so we started a company.” Wade Dunn Jr. said those words on stage at MVNO Nation Spain. They are not a tagline. They are the origin story of a company that built the mission into the foundation before it built anything else.

Where Love Mobile® Goes From Here

The coverage was a moment. The model is the movement.

Love Mobile® is actively expanding its Nonprofit Partners network. Organizations focused on Education, Environment, Community and Humanitarian work, and Animal Welfare are invited to learn more and apply at nonprofit.getlovemobile.com.

The kitchen table conversation in Georgia started with one question. The model was built before anyone else believed in it. Builders + Backers provided the Pebble Fund support to get the beta live. The i2E accelerator helped sharpen the execution. The Grow with Google cohort put 330 free certifications into the hands of nearly 200 community members. Three international stages validated the mission. And 484 media outlets told the world the story was real.

The answer is live. The story is moving. And the community is responding.

What remains is simple.

Every subscriber who joins Love Mobile® becomes part of that story. Not as a donor. Not as an activist. As someone who pays their phone bill. The same bill they were already paying. Redirected toward something that matters.

AP News told the story. AfroTech found it. Yahoo Finance amplified it. KOLUMN Magazine studied it. The wireless industry watched it from international stages for over a year.

Now it is your turn to be part of it.

Plans start at $15 per month across all three major U.S. carrier networks.

Your bill is due anyway. Make it matter.
