The Wall of Legends: Love Mobile’s Visit to KBOB 89.9 FM

Some business moments feel like business. And some feel like something else entirely. Something bigger. Something that reminds you exactly why you started.

Our visit to KBOB 89.9 FM on April 24, 2026 was the second kind.

Walking Into History

We arrived about twenty minutes early. Myself, Koddi, and two younger kids in tow. KBOB sits right in the heart of Tulsa, not far from Black Wall Street. And the moment you walk through that door, you know you’re somewhere special.

It’s a cozy, tight, warm space. Chairs and sofas. Bass guitars leaning against the wall. Professional speakers. Gold and platinum records hanging everywhere, signed to Bobby Eaton from the legends who passed through. Photos of icons. Everywhere you look, there’s a story.

And as we walked in, someone from the community was walking out — still talking to someone inside the building as they left. That’s what this place is. A hub. A gathering spot. A living room for North Tulsa.

Meeting Bobby Eaton

There was an older gentleman sitting on the sofa near the entrance. Koddi was in front. I was in the back behind our kids. He looked up and said hello. The kids introduced themselves. And then he said, simply, “I’m Bobby.”

Bobby Eaton Jr. The founder. The owner. The legend.

What happened next was one of the most beautiful twenty minutes we didn’t plan for. Before we ever stepped foot into the studio, Bobby sat with us and talked. About Tulsa. About the history of this city. About the 1921 Race Massacre and how this very station grew from the legacy of his grandfather’s duplex that was rebuilt in the aftermath. About music — because Bobby isn’t just a radio man. He’s a bassist who performed live and on albums with Natalie Cole, Ike and Tina Turner, Bobby Womack, and other legends of that era.

Humble. Warm. Generous with his time and his stories. That conversation alone was worth the visit.

The Signature Wall

When we walked into the studio, the first thing that stopped us was the wall.

Floor to ceiling. Covered in signatures. Sherri Shepherd. The Mayor of Tulsa. Cultural icons, celebrities, community leaders — all of them had sat in that same studio and left their mark on that wall. KBOB has a tradition. When your interview is done, you sign the wall. You become part of the history of the station.

We looked at each other. Looked at those names. And felt the weight of it.

The Interview

Malayna was our host. And from the first question, it didn’t feel like an interview. It felt like a conversation between people who cared about the same things.

Koddi and I talked about Love Mobile’s mission. About the Give Back Model. About how we didn’t start a company and then decide to give back — we decided to give back, and so we started a company. We talked about the impact. The plans. The math behind what a subscriber can do for their community just by paying a phone bill.

We lost track of time.

That doesn’t happen often. But when the conversation is real and the room is full of people who get it — it happens. The show ended and it was almost a surprise. Like, wait. Already?

That’s what Malayna and the KBOB community created for us that afternoon. A space where the mission could breathe.

Signing the Wall

On the way out, we signed the wall. Both of us.

And so did our kids.

Standing there, pen in hand, next to names that have shaped culture and community — that’s a moment you don’t forget. Our kids will grow up knowing they were in that room. That they were part of that story.

This visit happened the Friday before we flew out to MVNO Nation Americas 2026 in Miami. We were already riding momentum. But KBOB reminded us what all of it is really for.

It’s for moments like this. For conversations that don’t feel like business. For rooms full of history where the next chapter is still being written.

And now, our names are on that wall.
